LONDON

SWPD WORK-STUDY BACK UP

London found her love for pole dancing January 2016 and is grateful for the experience she has gained at SWPD. She has a passion for musical theatre and performing.  She last performed in Musical Theatre Southwest's of "Rock of Ages" in which, of course, she worked that pole. She has a background in jazz and enjoys any style of dance. Shout out to her family, friends and pole sisters.  You make this all so fun!

SARAH MURROW

SWPD WORK STUDY BACK UP

Sarah fell in love with pole dancing after her first class in September 2015, and has been shaking what her mama gave her (thanks mom!) at SWPD ever since.  She enjoys incorporating modern/contemporary influences into her pole dance, and couldn’t imagine life without her SWPD sisters and her Polemate! Sarah recently earned her Master’s in Education and teaches young students with autism.

Joselyn Talyor

SWPD WORK-STUDY / SPANISH TRANSLATOR

Joselyn began her pole dancing journey Summer 2016 and it has impacted her life, not only in the aspect of fitness but as a person as well.  Pole dancing is a great workout and has motivated her to work on herself in other ways too.  SWPD makes you feel like family! Coming here makes the stress or negativity she experiences during throughout the day go away.  SWPD has helped her gain more confidence and is honored to be a part of the team. She also attends CNM in pursuit of a criminal justice degree.  She is also an early preschool teacher at La Petite Academy.

LAUREN MOORE

YOGA FOR POLE DANCERS INSTRUCTOR / SWPD WORK-STUDY

Lauren studied Languages and Philosophy at UNM and is now a massage therapist and yoga instructor. She has been pole dancing and working at SWPD since 2016. As a lover of barre classes and hoop dancing, she feels like pole is the perfect combination of fitness and creative expression. SWPD has been a source of growth, confidence, and community. Pole dancing has helped her find states of flow both on and off the pole, which she hopes to share with others through her work and her art.

Janice McFarlane

SWPD WORK-STUDY IN TRAINING / COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPECIALIST

Janice is a recent transplant to Albuquerque from New York City. She works as a study coordinator for research in teen pregnancy prevention. Janice began pole dancing at SWPD in February 2017 and loves it because pole has made her more persistent and less inclined to give up when faced with challenges in class and in her everyday life.

Alicia Ruiz

SWPD WORK-STUDY BACK-UP

Alicia has been a student at Southwest Pole Dancing since August 2016. When she is not at the studio, Alicia works as a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from UNM in 2014. As many of her fellow students, Alicia was immediately hooked on learning the art of pole dancing after taking her first intro class. She is inspired to continue growing in her skills and to raise awareness of pole dancing as a fitness exercise.

"Brynlyn is a highly qualified Pole dance instructor with over 9 years pole instructor experience. SWPD is nice and in a great location. Pole Dancing is a the best resistance training for women, plus it is all kinds of fun. I recommend SW Pole Dancing for your pole fitness needs."

Anna Hoj

Brynlyn is an excellent pole instructor and extremely talented. I decided to start my pole training over due to injuries and bad habits, and I feel stronger and more capable than ever under her guidance. I really appreciate her commitment to fundamentals and her student's progress.

Michelle Wilson

If you are thinking about trying Pole Dancing, this is the place for you. The instructor Brynlyn is well versed in her craft and is a caring and patient teacher who works with her students at whatever level they are at. She is also very friendly and easy to work with. The studio is clean, the routines are fun but also challenging in a way that makes you want to come back and learn more. It is also great exercise that will help you with your flexibility, balance, dance moves and even getting in touch with your sensual side.  The other ladies in the classes are also very nice and supportive and it is a great place to make new friends with a common interest!
